Doppelherz: From the heart, for you

We have been wholeheartedly supporting people for over 100 years in leading a healthy, self-caring, and active life. Health should not be a luxury – that is what we at Doppelherz firmly believe. Our mission is to offer high-quality and meaningful dietary supplements, medical products, and pharmaceuticals at an affordable price and make them accessible to many people. Our logo: a promise to you

We are often asked: Why two hearts? For us, the Doppelherz is a promise: We are by your side. We help you to help yourself and stand behind you – just like the black heart stands behind the red one. Two are better than one – even when it comes to hearts!

In 2025, we opened another new laboratory

The capacities of the laboratory built in 2014 are no longer sufficient. Since October 2025, we have had an additional laboratory equipped with the latest analytical instruments. This is where analyses for the quality control of the product groups dietary supplements, cosmetics, and supplementary animal feed are primarily carried out.

How it all began

When people think of Doppelherz, many immediately think of the Doppelherz tonic – and for good reason. The tonic was the brand’s very first product and remained its only one for a long time. It was developed in 1919 by Essen-based druggist Josef Peter Hennes from herbs and other natural ingredients and was first sold in 1921.

As seen in magazines and on television

In the 1950s, Doppelherz tonic became well known and popular throughout Germany. Dressed in the brand’s signature red and black, the modern housewives of the time represented the product. High recognition was also achieved through TV commercials in the 1980s and 1990s, featuring the unmistakable “boom-boom” sound.

How we became what we are today

Since the 1990s, Doppelherz has been launching new products year after year, all with one thing in common: they help people take good care of themselves. In addition to the products available in drugstores and supermarkets, since 2006 we have also offered a line of pharmacy-exclusive products under the name Doppelherz system.

The right product for everyone

At our company headquarters in Flensburg, with our own laboratory, we continuously develop new products – now even for animals. In addition to dietary supplements with vitamins, minerals, omega-3 fatty acids, or plant-based ingredients, our range also includes medicines, medical devices, and cosmetics.

From Northern Germany to the whole world – or right to your home

Our products are shipped from our Northern German logistics center to all over the world: Doppelherz is available in more than 60 countries and is valued by millions of people around the globe.
